NatureScot Species Licensing Update

Summary

This NatureScot Licensing workshop, organised by the CIEEM Scotland Section Committee, offers an opportunity to hear about the latest Species Licensing developments and a chance to feedback your questions and comments.

Description

Ryan Greenwood and Amy Kidd, Senior Licensing Officers at NatureScot, will provide updates on changes or development in Species Licensing in Scotland, ideas being considered for future changes, and a chance to ask questions and feedback your comments/concerns.

As there will undoubtedly be questions people already have, we recommend you email in your questions by 8th April to annierobinson@cieem.net so we can make the most of the time we have. Of course, new questions will also be fielded at the event, and encouraged! Audience participation will certainly make for a more informative and useful event.

Ryan Greenwood has worked for NatureScot for over 3.5 years as a Licensing Officer and previously worked in field of wildlife conservation for ~14 years. He has a wide range of experience in land management, wildlife management and protected species conservation. He currently operates a Senior Licensing Officer with responsibility for supporting the team, developing/improving licensing processes and leading on Beaver, Red Squirrel, Water Vole and Red Grouse licensing.

Amy Kidd has worked for NatureScot for 4.5 years, starting as a modern apprentice in the Licensing team and working up to a Senior Licensing Officer. Before this, she completed a Masters in Ecology and Conservation, spent a number of summers as a bat ecologist, and radio tracked red squirrels through forestry and grey squirrels through Aberdeen. Within the Licensing team Amy has a focus on bats, badgers, fish-eating birds, and all things data.
