Birds, Beers & the Clyst: A High-Tide Walk and Ecology Social

Summary

Join the CIEEM South West Members’ Network for a guided high-tide bird walk at Bowling Green Marsh, followed by informal birdwatching, drinks, pizza and ecology networking from the riverside deck overlooking the River Clyst.

Description

Join us for a guided high-tide bird walk at Bowling Green Marsh, led by Simon Bates. We will explore the marsh and surrounding area while looking for the waders, waterfowl and other bird species using this important part of the Exe Estuary.

After the walk, we will head to the pub for informal birdwatching from the riverside deck overlooking the River Clyst. Event hosts Lauren Weller and Simon Bates will be available to chat about local conservation initiatives (including the Killerton Local Nature Recovery Strategy work), current developments in ecology and the opportunities and challenges facing the profession.

There will be no formal presentation. We hope you will join us for a drink, pizza from the visiting pizza van, further birdwatching and informal discussion with fellow ecology professionals. Attendees will purchase their own food and drinks.
