Description

Eagle Reintroduction Wales (ERW) is a Durell Wildlife Conservation Trust Programme aiming to return the White-tailed Eagle to Southeast Wales and the Severn Estuary in partnership with Gwent Wildlife Trust and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

The talk will cover ‘What is a White-tailed Eagle?’, ‘Why is it important to restore eagles back to Wales?’, ‘What are we proposing?’, ‘How do reintroductions work?’, ‘What the risks and challenges have been?’ and finally ‘When do we expect this to happen?’.

The talk will be given by Dr Sophie-lee Williams, the founder of ERW and project officer for Durrell who has been heading up the return of native-lost species to Wales for 9-years!

Dr Sophie-Lee Williams is a raptor biologist with over 18-years’ experience working with captive and wild birds of prey. Sophie-Lee is the founder of Eagle Reintroduction Wales and has been heading this programme for 9-years. She is currently heading up the return of White-tailed Eagles to Wales after just submitting a licence and she is here today to share this journey with us
