The day will cover:

- Important fungi species and groups

- Fungi identification and key features

- How fungi reflect and indicate habitat type and quality (including in relation to planning and ecological assessment)

This event will comprise a steep walk up to Broadhead Clough Nature Reserve near Mythlmroyd to look at fungi in the grassland and woodland habitats, identify and learn about them.

The Mid-Yorkshire Fungus Group is an active volunteer group of mycologists who focus on recording (not foraging) fungi to contribute to national databases which monitor trends in species. They host regular forays and events for all to learn about and appreciate fungi.
