Summary
This is the first in a series of events that will encapsulate the 5 B’s in Ecology. Bats, Birds, Bees, Butterflies and British mammals. An exciting series of events that enable attendees to be involved, learn survey techniques and identification skills, and hear talks on these topics from University of Derby professors.
Description
Join us for a relaxed and hands-on day of woodland discovery at Sturgess Field in Derby. We’ll be exploring the woodland with a focus on identifying trees through their buds, twigs and bark. We will also take some time to conduct breeding birds and wintering birds surveys, with the potential to view some nesting birds.
This is a friendly, supportive session that’s ideal for students and practising ecologists alike.
About the speakers
Eleanor Atkins will be the lead speaker/presenter from the University of Derby. She has worked closely with CIEEM and leads modules such as Habitat management, Ecological consultancy and Field biology. With a vast knowledge of survey techniques and identification skills.
