Description
Biodiversity Net Gain condition assessment is still a developing skill for many practitioners, with room for genuine interpretive differences even among experienced surveyors. This practical field session takes attendees to a compact but habitat-rich site on the Eden Project Outer Estate, featuring bog, heath and associated habitats in close proximity. Attendees will conduct UKHab surveys and BNG condition assessments, before coming together to compare methodologies, scoring decisions and conclusions. The session is designed to surface where and why practitioners diverge on condition calls, building shared understanding and confidence in applying the metric consistently. Suitable for ecologists and consultants with some familiarity with the BNG metric who want to stress-test their assessment skills against peers in a supportive setting.
