Description
We are in the midst of a biodiversity crisis, and land management is both a key driver of biodiversity loss and a powerful part of the solution. Social housing providers, as major landowners, have a unique opportunity to support nature recovery and improve access to green space for communities. Since 2022, Flagship has been developing and delivering its approach to biodiversity that puts this responsibility into action. This presentation will explore how Flagship is embedding biodiversity into its housing landscapes—working with in-house gardening teams to create meadows on nearly 250 sites across the East of England, delivering green space improvement projects, and raising awareness across the organisation. With momentum growing in the housing sector around nature recovery, this session offers practical insights into how a housing provider can take meaningful, scalable action to support nature and people- starting with the land it already manages.
