Badger Ecology and Surveys

Summary

This one-day training event (the first day of two days of badger training) provides a comprehensive introduction to badger ecology and surveys. The training will be delivered in three sessions and includes an overview of badger ecology, relevant legislation, survey planning and techniques, field signs (including sett identification) and writing badger reports. The course includes a visit to a main sett to find badger field signs.

Description

Delegates will develop their knowledge through analysis of badger survey case studies and assessment of badger reports. The course culture is open with questions able to be asked anytime through the day. Badger queries can be sent to the tutor after the course.

Developers, ecological consultants, local authority ecologists, local authority planners, students, environmental managers, wardens and rangers.

Prior Knowledge

No previous experience of badger work is required.
