Description
The presentation will showcase the drivers and business case for Nature-based Solutions along with some case studies on their design and benefits. It will demonstrate approach projects from the point of environmental net gain how to maximise the opportunities and how to start thinking about developing and messaging the business case.
Martina is a Chartered Ecologist and Fellow of CIEEM with over 30 years’ experience who specialises in biodiversity, ecosystem services and natural capital. She leads the UK nature advisory and nature-based solutions proposition for Arcadis and promotes the benefits that the nature can deliver for climate resilience, social health and well-being, and enhanced biodiversity, improving quality of life for all while accelerating a planet positive future.
Maddy is a Senior Ecologist with over four years’ experience in leading biodiversity net gain assessments on medium – large scale projects including producing analysis using Nature-based Solutions for environmental benefit. She is a certified BNG and Morph practitioner. She has assisted with climate vulnerability assessments and helped develop nature-based interventions to mitigate climate risk. Maddy has a BA in Biology and MSc in Water and Environmental Management including a dissertation quantifying carbon storage potential of rewilded vegetation using LiDAR. She has also supported climate resilience for the green estate.
