Summary

This course is a blend of independent learning and tutor led sessions throughout the day. It is suitable for beginners to GIS, those looking to refresh their skills, or migrate to QGIS software. The course will cover some essential skills an ecologist would need to confidently start using QGIS.

Description

QGIS is a freely available open-source GIS that matches the functionality and usability of commercial products like ArcGIS. It has been adopted by governments, businesses and NGOs around the world.

The course will cover the Day 1 topics of the popular ‘QGIS for Ecologists and Environmental practitioners’ course with our Self-Led QGIS Essentials course which will provide delegates with the essential skills needed to confidently start using QGIS.

Although the topics are well established, the course will be delivered using CIEEM’s Moodle Learning Management Platform and a blend of tutor sessions throughout the day, to keep you on track. The day will start with the tutor at 09:30 who will introduce the course materials.
