Summary
Join a small group of botanists to casually identify plants and habitats at Cross Lane Meadows, near Whickham. The aim of our North East Botany Basics events is to provide an entry point to learn the basics of botany – the guides are still learning too!
Description
North East Botany Basics will be an inclusive group that is open to all, and we hope to host a number of field trips to the most biodiverse urban habitats around Newcastle. We will aim to host these where there are good public transport links, to allow access to those without a car.

Dan Wales-Hart, Mike Perkins, and Alex Blackburn will lead the North East Botany Basics sessions. All three of us are ecologists, with between 6 and 10 years of experience.
We have all undergone FISC Assessments, and are all continually learning and sharpening our botanical skills.
