An Introduction to the NVC

Summary

This course is designed as an introduction to vegetation identification at the broad community level, as described by Rodwell et al. This will involve excursions to a range of habitats within the NVC manuals on Woodlands, Mires and Heaths and Grasslands, where the most common habitats are found. Methods for NVC will be shown and undertaken by practical exercises in a host of vegetation communities and some botanical identification is desirable but not essential.
