A best practice and award-winning case study of stakeholder participation

Summary

This webinar will discuss the components of successful stakeholder engagement which helped resolve contentious issues around recreation, access and sensitive habitats in Hatfield Forest. I will talk about the importance of the ‘architecture’ of dialogue and the structure of stakeholder workshops; consensus building and constructive dialogue methods; how to identify the appropriate level of empowerment; and the importance of embedding ongoing participation with stakeholders.

Description

Best practice stakeholder participation only happens by careful design and planning. I am sharing the methods we used for this project and talking about consensus building methods so that other environmental professionals and academics can hear about these approaches and principles and think about the benefits of changing the way they work - and help people make better decisions for people, places and nature.
