Traditional and Novel Approaches to Tackling INNS on West Wales Rivers Description Joint presentation with Four Rivers for LIFE and West Wales Rivers Trust (WWRT) about the INNS control work that has been taking place on the Teifi, Tywi and Cleddau SAC Rivers. The organisation have been working together to tackle INNS in a number of different ways – contractor-led, volunteer-led and through novel approaches such as trials with rust fungus.Leila Thornton is Senior River Restoration Officer for the Four Rivers for LIFE project. The project is an EU LIFE Programme funded project to improve the condition of four SAC rivers in south Wales: Teifi, Cleddau, Tywi and Usk.Harriet Alvis is CEO of WWRT and has a passion for restoring rivers back to as close to natural conditions as possible, to ensure that they are resilient to land use and climatic pressures.
