Tackling the interlinked emergencies of the biodiversity crisis and changing climate are justifiably a political and social priority. The work of ecologists and environmental managers has never been more vital in helping to restore nature, repair damaged ecosystem functionality and reduce carbon emissions. So how we manage habitats, how we design projects and how we structure the advice and the recommendations we make must go beyond a traditionally narrow focus and proactively contribute to the ‘big picture’ stuff.

This conference will explore how our work is changing, or should be changing, in response to the need to help address these environmental imperatives. Conference presentations will look at how we can use our work to deliver more for nature and climate using new technologies, the latest research evidence and multi-functional approaches to delivery.

We will also be looking at our own performance as environmental professionals and organisations in helping to tackle these environmental crises. Are we meeting the expectations of our current and future employees, clients and members? If not, what are we going to do about it?

Conference Dinner - book here!

The conference dinner will be held at The Place Hotel on the evening of 23^rd November. Situated in New Town district, this accommodation is about a 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Edinburgh and our Conference Venue at The Assembly Rooms.

There will be arrival drinks starting from 6:30pm followed by a three course meal with wine served at the tables and an additional 2 drinks per guest. Following the meal the private Bar will remain open until last calls at 00:30am.

The conference dinner is not included within the price of a standard ticket and can be booked by selecting the Conference dinner ticket item under the Conference Dinner bookings page – any issues please email training@cieem.net  - we hope to see you there!
