Meeting the challenges of protecting and restoring nature means building capacity in the ecology and environmental management sector and making best use of technology. What does AI mean for ecology, how can modern molecular and acoustic methods complement existing best practice, and what’s coming over the horizon that will change how ecologists work? Importantly, with critical skills shortages and with people from many backgrounds underrepresented – how do we attract, train, retain, and upskill ecologists to meet future demands?

During the Autumn conference we will showcase innovative practice and evaluate the usefulness of emerging technologies for survey and monitoring, data analysis, mitigation, and restoration.
