A Wider System approach with BNG

Summary

This webinar will provide an introduction to landscape regeneration governance and funding approaches that have the potential to support a holistic ecosystem-based approach and suggest strategies for integrating BNG to maximise the value of the co-benefits it can deliver.

Description

Biodiversity Net Gain has provided a welcome opportunity to fund biodiversity gain on specific land areas, but can it also support a wider landscape regeneration strategy delivering multiple ecosystem services? This webinar will provide an introduction to landscape regeneration governance and funding approaches that have the potential to support a holistic ecosystem-based approach and suggest strategies for integrating BNG to maximise the value of the co-benefits it can deliver. It will explore how BNG transactions can be integrated into a wider long-term multi-stakeholder collaborative relationship approach based on economic thinking outside the standard box with its focus on private finance and nature offset markets that underpins BNG. It also provides the potential for much greater net gains and for substantial investment in natural capital.
