Summary

Join us for a field trip to a large area of former industrial land in Billingham which is managed as a biodiversity area for invertebrates. The biodiversity area includes classic “brownfield” habitats and a mature, mixed plantation shelter belt. The butterfly species list for the biodiversity site currently stands at 24, the highest in the Tees Valley and includes regionally significant species such as Dingy Skipper, White Letter Hairstreak, Grayling, and what is currently the only known breeding population of Brown Argus in the North East. This event is organised by the North East England Section Committee.
