Description
February 2025 marks one year since Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) became mandatory for most developments in England, revolutionising the integration of biodiversity into the planning system. In this short time, BNG has emerged as a cornerstone of ecological planning, driving skills development and innovative approaches across the sector.
To celebrate this milestone and address the evolving challenges and opportunities of BNG, this conference invites stakeholders to reflect on lessons learned from its first year of implementation. The event will focus on practical solutions, shared experiences, and emerging best practices, offering a platform to explore how BNG can deliver more for nature and society, and identifying what additional support and tools are needed.
