With increasing pressure on building new homes, particularly on brownfield sites, the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has worked with leading experts and practitioners to develop guidance on how we can deliver compensation for impacts upon valued brownfield/open mosaic habitats. The introduction of these guidelines is particularly timely as we see further consultation on elements of the BNG system including brownfield sites.
