Description
Scotland is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world, ranking 28th from bottom out of more than 240 countries, as measured by the Biodiversity Intactness Index, conveying the need for ambition and urgency to restore nature across Scotland.
In the 'Scottish Biodiversity Strategy to 2045: Tackling the Nature Emergency', there is the ambition for Scotland to be nature positive by 2030 and to have restored and regenerated biodiversity across the country by 2045. Nature restoration targets for Scotland will be in the forthcoming Natural Environment Bill and internationally there is the EU's Nature Restoration Law.
This conference will look at how nature restoration is being achieved in Scotland at present and what will need to be achieved in the future to ensure we are nature positive.
